Ranking Changed

It seems that along with the rule change yesterday, they've also trimmed away at the league table, making it impossible to view those ranked below 500. Well I don't like to complain, but with more than 10,000 people in the competition, that cuts more than 95% of us from the list. Now if you're not in the top 5% of traders, you can't compare your account size with others, you can't checkout how your mates are going, and more importantly, you can't checkout who the losers are and how much money they've squandered. They've taken away all the fun!

Why did they do it? My only guess is that with the list getting ridiculously long, there was too much pressure on the server as people viewed it. All those inactive referred accounts didn't help either. I suggest that CNBC implements a rule to close accounts that are inactive for a certain period of time. That might shorten the list enough for them to let us view it again. Another solution could be to let us view the list in ranges, for example 1-500, 500-1000, etc.

I want the "Show All" feature back! Tell me I'm not the only one... Vote to find out what the other traders think.

Do you want to see the complete rankings?

nothing is without a catch, like there just going to give out 10k a week, yeah right. my theory is there testing a new trading software and seeing how much load it can take before crashing.

to be a fair competition there should have been no referrer bonuses or 10k bonus question points everyone on the same starting money.

Well I think the "catch" is in the publicity. The bonuses get more people into the competition and make people watch the show.

I dont think they are testing new software. I think they (etrade) have taken their existing system and tried to strip it back to a basic system that been modified to run this comp.

Anyway, you can still view the entire list if you use firefox and have the webdeveloper plugin. With that plugin you can change the select list to a text box and enter a number to see that many results.

For example: the biggest loser wooden spoon award for the end of trading on the 27/11 goes to:

Username: PHILIP DELANEY
Rank: 23140
Cash: $4,666.49
Portfolio: $74,818.01
Total: $79,484.50

Don't give up your day job Phil.
